Harley Is Now At Rainbow Bridge

It has not been the best day here in Storth.
Harley who some of you know about, is my Sisters Staffy. Last night she passed over to the other side as as the story goes will be waiting on the other side of rainbow bridge.

That is her snuggled up with Flo our staffy when she came to stay at Christmas.

Harley has always been an amazing Dog!

Rescued from a farm as a puppy who was mistreated she has given love to everyone she met.

It is really strange how the loss of a Dog can affect you. I spent a lot of time with her though she didn’t live with us. Pet loss can feel as intense as human loss sometimes.

The love and joy they bring to us expecting nothing in return is probably just one of the reasons for that.

I have to say I have been beside myself today with what I can only describe as grief. Not made any better this morning when I found her spare bowl that she keeps here at our house for when she stays.

I know she is better off now. She had a stroke earlier in the year and recovered. She stayed with us for a couple of weeks in the summer though she couldn’t walk very far I sense she had a great time. The last few weeks she has gone quickly downhill. We are not really sure how old she is. We think about 12 to 14 though we don’t know.

When she arrived she came without any details.
Just a tail that wagged a lot, an intense love of any food you were eating especially cheese! and the need to sit on your feet at any possible opportunity. That was unless she sat on your lap with her bum against you. You know the way Staffys do?

When I am a little less emotional I will put a video together and post it here.

Sorry to blurt out like this on the blog only a few of you have emailed me about Harley and I wanted to let you know.

Take Care Denise
